ABOUT
Dr. Chapman is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology and is currently completing her postdoctoral residency through Counseling & Psychology Professionals of Northeast Texas. She received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Alliant International University and her Master of Arts (M.A.) in Psychology from Medaille College. Her primary focus areas with our clinic include adult and pediatric neuropsychological evaluation, as well as adolescent and young-adult individual psychotherapy. In addition, she has grown particularly interested in forensic work and offers her evaluation services to the court system (diagnostic, competency, insanity, commitment, juvenile risk/recidivism, etc.).
Dr. Chapman completed her undergraduate work at the University of North Texas, from where she received a Bachelor's Degree in the Applied Science of Psychology. This unique course of study permitted triple sub-majors in sociology, anthropology, and geriatrics. Prior to attending UNT, she studied at Midland College and Tarrant County College taking courses that ranged from nursing to child psychology. She also holds an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Liberal Arts from Tarrant County College.
Dr. Chapman brings to our clinical team, over a decade of healthcare experience across a variety of settings, including hospitals, public school systems, outpatient offices, and community clinics. She has worked in both administration as well as direct patient care (primarily with children and adolescents).
As for forensic practice, Dr. Chapman is a court-appointed mediator, having completed training pursuant to Chapter 154.052 (a) Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code and the standards of the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable. She is also a contracted visitation supervisor with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), as well as a court-appointed visitation supervisor. She dedicates a large portion of her time working with the Lamar County Juvenile Probation Office, the Lamar County Sheriff's Department, the various County Courts at Law, and the various Municipal Courts at Law in the area.
